Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hitoshi Masaru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harry Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Hitoshi Masaru!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Harry Hill!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Daniel Bishop and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut there from Hill.
Hill throws a right and a left that Masaru avoids nicely.
Hill fails to land with a series of punches.
Masaru showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hill.
Masaru shoots in and drives through. Hill sprawls well.
Hill swinging wilding here.
Hill misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A jab from Masaru finds it's way through Hill's defenses.
Hill lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Masaru circles away quickly and effectively.
Masaru has a takedown stuffed.
Hill moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Some wild striking there from Hill.
Hill swats away the attempt to clinch by Masaru.

Hill throws a right and a left that Masaru avoids nicely.
Masaru avoids a punch combination nicely.
Masaru fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Harry Hill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hill misses with a hook.
No joy there for Hill, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hill finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
No luck for Masaru with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hitoshi Masaru. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Masaru counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Masaru.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Hill tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Masaru trying to control but Hill is working from the bottom.
Hill is looking to stand up but Masaru isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Masaru wants to control from the top but Hill keeps moving.
Hill wants to get back to his feet but Masaru is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Hill tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Masaru landing with the ground and pound.
Masaru cracks Hill with a solid left hand.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Masaru misses with a hook.
Hill throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Masaru fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hill manages to avoid it.
Masaru throws a jab when Hill was well out of range.
Hill throws a left and a right that both miss

and Masaru counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Masaru winds up and cracks Hill with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Masaru moves nicely into side control.
Hill pushes Masaru away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Masaru gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Masaru works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Masaru will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Hill is looking for a sweep.
Masaru is working Hill over with some ground and pound from side control.

Masaru trying to control the position but Hill is working away.
Masaru works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Masaru lands a decent elbow from side control.
Hill is trying to improve his position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Masaru happy to just control the position for now.
Hill really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Masaru. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Masaru cracks Hill with a big right hand but Hill just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Hill takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Masaru is looking to take a break and control but Hill is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Masaru shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Masaru was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hill can do anything to dispel that myth.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
BOOM! Masaru connects with a massive shot to the dome!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hitoshi Masaru dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Masaru tries to clinch there but Hill circles away.
Masaru slips under a jab.
Horrible takedown by Masaru or perhaps it was just good defense by Hill which made him look bad.
Hill fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Hill pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Hill manages to break the clinch.
Hill fails to land with a series of punches.
Hill throws a combination that misses

and Masaru counters with a single leg into guard. Hill didn't expect that.
Hitoshi Masaru overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Masaru advances to half guard.
Hill taking some punishment here, with Masaru in his half guard.
Hill looks like he's trying to stand up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Masaru is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Masaru has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hill is defending against the submission attempts here by Masaru.
Masaru seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Masaru takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Masaru prevents Hill from standing back up.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Masaru connects with a nice short shot to Hill's temple.
Masaru wants to control but Hill is keeping him busy.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Hill looks to throw a body kick

and Masaru counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hill won't be happy with that.

Hill is trying to get back to his feet.
Hill tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Masaru wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Masaru lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Hill down.
Masaru is looking to take a break and control but Hill is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hill manages to work his way to half guard, despite Masaru's best efforts.

Masaru seems to be working for a kimura but Hill defends the submission attempt.

Masaru wants to work for an arm triangle but Hill is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Hill keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Masaru tries to pass to full mount but Hill defends it.
Hill gets full guard.
Hill is looking to stand up but Masaru isn't so interested in that idea.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Hill is trying to stand up here but Masaru is controlling him well.

Masaru won't let Hill get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Masaru postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Hill looks a forlorn figure.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hitoshi Masaru dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Hill tries to clinch there but Masaru circles away.
Hill fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hill attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Hill throws out a leg kick but Masaru moves out of range and Hill only half commits.
Masaru tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hill sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Masaru somewhat.
A nice combination there by Hill.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Hill gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Masaru working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Hill wants to get back to his feet but Masaru is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Masaru working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Hill's head.
Masaru is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Masaru postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Masaru changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hill tries to avoid it but Masaru manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hill to the ground. Hill escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Masaru fails with an attempt to clinch.

Hill gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Masaru to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Masaru won't allow Hill to get back to his feet.

Hill is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Masaru is defended easily by Hill.

Masaru dives in and grabs Hill's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hill pushes down on Masaru's head and hops out.
Hill lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Masaru circles away quickly and effectively.
Hill swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hill misses with a few strikes there.
Masaru tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hill swivels and escapes.
Hill goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Hill wants to get back to his feet but Masaru is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Masaru passes Hill's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Masaru passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Hill!
Masaru lands a nice shot to the head.
Masaru with a couple of short strikes.
Harry Hill has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Hill in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Hill holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Masaru tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Masaru unloads with some shots from mount but Hill bucks and avoids them well.
You get the feeling that Hill really doesn't like being in this position too much.

And that's the end of the fight!
Hitoshi Masaru showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Masaru, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
