PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Motoo Kimura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lincoln Hakamura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hakamura has chosen Metallica - One as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Motoo Kimura has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Motoo Kimura seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Motoo Kimura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lincoln Hakamura!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Saam Ante and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hakamura tries to clinch but Kimura moves out of range.
Hakamura throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Hakamura moves into range and clinches up with Kimura.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kimura. Hakamura does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hakamura throws a head kick but Kimura moves out of range.

Hakamura gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Kimura drops back looking for a leg! Hakamura is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hakamura manages to kick Kimura off! Kimura jumps back into Hakamura's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kimura thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Hakamura keeping moving, preventing Kimura from controlling successfully.

Hakamura is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Kimura counters with a takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Hakamura's face as Kimura controls the position.

Kimura is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hakamura has escaped the position, nice work there.

Kimura tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kimura has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Kimura prevents Hakamura from escaping the position.
Hakamura really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kimura. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kimura decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hakamura to his feet.

Hakamura moves into the clinch successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hakamura using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Hakamura drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kimura pulls his leg out and moves away.
Hakamura tries for a takedown but Kimura circles away easily

and Kimura counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Motoo Kimura has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lincoln Hakamura.
Hakamura is not content to let Kimura control the position.

Kimura is working for a submission of some sort.
Kimura is breathing heavily.
Kimura content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Hakamura is trying to stand up here but Kimura is controlling him well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Kimura looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Kimura is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hakamura defends it well.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kimura is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Hakamura tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Kimura manages to move to mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Motoo Kimura dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Hakamura looks to land a body kick but Kimura moved away.
Hakamura throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Hakamura circles away from the clinch attempt.
Motoo Kimura is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kimura blocks a head kick by Hakamura.
Hakamura scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kimura doesn't seem bothered though.

Kimura thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hakamura's head.

Kimura is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kimura perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Kimura is trying to work for a kimura but Hakamura is defending well.
Hakamura is trying to stand.
Kimura is trying to control. Hakamura wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Hakamura looks like he's trying to stand up.
Motoo Kimura overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kimura thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hakamura's head.
Kimura wants to take a breather but Hakamura is having none of it.
Kimura stalling.
Hakamura is trying to escape back to his feet but Kimura uses the scramble to pass into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Kimura has hold of Hakamura's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Hakamura seems comfortable defending it but Kimura has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Hakamura is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Hakamura is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Kimura couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Motoo Kimura!
