Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Shamrock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jossie Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shamrock's entrance music is Thunder strike. A fine choice. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Shamrock has closed the distance and engaged Silva in a clinch.

Silva had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Shamrock is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Silva Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Shamrock's back instead.

Well, with Silva on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Shamrock is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

Silva is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Shamrock has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shamrock postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Silva is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Shamrock, into his guard.

and Shamrock counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Shamrock decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Silva, up you get!

Shamrock closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Shamrock lands in his opponent's guard.
Shamrock stays in close to Silva's body and controls the position.

Silva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shamrock can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
