The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kali fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Bubba looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Kali rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bubba moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Kali throws a nice looking combination but Bubba bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Kali misses with a jab, cross combination.
Kali throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bubba gets a takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kali misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Bubba is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kali sees it coming and defends easily.
Kali is trying to control but can't.
Kali is pressing down on Bubba's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Kali throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Kali throws a sloppy head kick and Bubba moves out of range easily.

Damien Kali seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kali fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bubba manages to avoid it.
Kali lands with an uppercut that bounces Bubba off the cage and back into rage.
Damien Kali is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kali throws a combination. Bubba tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Bubba moves forwards but Kali connects with a nice, crisp jab.

An inside leg kick lands from Bubba.

Kali lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Bubba at a distance.
Kali swings for the body but Bubba moves out of range.

Kali ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

and Bubba counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Kali is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Bubba drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kali looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kali looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kali!
Bubba is looking to regain half guard here but Kali keeps moving and retains side control.

Kali wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bubba keeps working.
