The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Thiago Cunha and Matheus Silva.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves has a takedown stuffed.
Paiva throws a series of punches but Alves avoids them all with ease.
Alves showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Paiva.
Alves wants to clinch.
Alves shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Paiva as he avoids it easily.
Alves tries to close the distance and clinch but Paiva swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Paiva misses with a few strikes there.
No joy there for Paiva, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Paiva looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Paiva fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
The fight stays on the outside here - Alves looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Paiva rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Alves moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Alves is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Paiva.
Paiva stalks Alves and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Alves's face. Alves staggers backwards, shaken.
Alves shoots in but Paiva avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Rafael Paiva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brock Alves.
Alves has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Alves wants to clinch.
Alves doesn't manage to clinch there - Paiva circles away.
Paiva throws a right and a left that Alves avoids nicely.

Paiva connects with a nice cross there... Alves is looking wobbly and Paiva recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Alves to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Paiva jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
