Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Barbara Boxer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leroy Bater (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leroy Bater!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bater looks to score with a jab to the body but Boxer is just out of range.
Boxer swings away with a body shot that misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Bater drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Bater looking to pass the guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bater sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Boxer's guard.
Boxer avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Bater.
Well, if Bater is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Boxer wants to get back to full guard.
Boxer is looking to escape.
Bater sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Boxer defending well though.
Bater slows the pace down in half guard.
Bater wants to take a breather but Boxer is having none of it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Boxer misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bater moves out of range of the leg kick from Boxer.
Boxer buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Bater takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Boxer throws the left hand but Bater avoids the punch easily.
Boxer uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Bater.
A telegraphed right hand from Bater misses the target.
Bater cracks a nice hook into Boxer's ribs.
Boxer is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Boxer throws an overhand right that lands on Bater's shoulder, as Bater tries to avoid the shot.
Bater takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Bater moves out of range as Boxer throws a body kick.
Bater tries to close the distance and clinch but Boxer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Boxer thuds a left hand into Bater's body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bater misses with an uppercut. Boxer saw that one coming.
Boxer does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Boxer throws a hook but Bater blocks it.
A cross from Bater lands.
Bater blocks a head kick by Boxer.

Bater lands with a thumping leg kick.
Boxer is breathing heavily.
Bater blocks a head kick by Boxer.
Boxer throws a half hearted mid kick.
Boxer connects with a right hand. Bater shakes it off.
Bater uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Boxer.
Boxer uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bater.
Boxer jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Bater is looking to clinch.
Boxer moves forwards but Bater connects with a nice, crisp jab.

It looks like Barbara Boxer has been cut.
A slow jab from Bater misses its intended target.

Boxer tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Bater lands a big uppercut and Boxer crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Boxer looks OK. Bater waves Boxer back to his feet!

Boxer is rocked!
Bater fakes the body blow, causing Boxer to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Boxer goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
