Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dean Whinchester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Niko Batchiska (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dean Whinchester has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dean Whinchester!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Niko Batchiska!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Whinchester shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Batchiska trying to control but Whinchester postures up.

Batchiska kicks Whinchester off and gets back to his feet.
Batchiska swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Whinchester swats away the attempt to clinch by Batchiska.
Whinchester avoids the head kick by Batchiska.
Whinchester throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Whinchester avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Whinchester wants to land a leg kick but Batchiska is out of range.

Whinchester shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Batchiska napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Whinchester really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Whinchester prevents Batchiska from escaping the position.
Whinchester will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Batchiska has one of Whinchester's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.
Batchiska is trying to control Whinchester's posture but Whinchester avoids it.
Batchiska is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Whinchester asserts his dominance and retains side control.
You can see the frustration on Batchiska's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Batchiska is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Batchiska is trying to work for a sweep but Whinchester has mounted him!

Whinchester goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Batchiska turns into him and now he's in Whinchester's guard.
Batchiska must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Batchiska stands up and waves to Whinchester to follow him.

Whinchester scores with a one two! Batchiska had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Whinchester circles away from the clinch attempt.
Batchiska tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Batchiska throws a head kick that misses.

Batchiska fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Whinchester, pushing him back against the cage.

Batchiska drags the fight down to the ground.

Whinchester drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Batchiska dives on top into guard.

Whinchester working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Batchiska doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Batchiska manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Whinchester is breathing heavily.

Batchiska has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Whinchester is proving hard to escape from.
Batchiska stays in close to Whinchester's body and controls the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Whinchester has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Batchiska is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Whinchester.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Niko Batchiska will probably get the nod.
That's time! Whinchester's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Batchiska throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Whinchester stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Batchiska follows into mount!


It looks like Dean Whinchester has been cut.
Whinchester is looking to improve his position but Batchiska isn't that keen on the idea.

Batchiska stands up from mount. Strange move.

Batchiska gets the takedown into side control.

Batchiska stands up.
Batchiska scores with the left hand. Whinchester knows he should have avoided that one.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Batchiska digs a good hook to Whinchester's body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Batchiska closes the distance and clinches.

Batchiska lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Batchiska decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Batchiska tries to clinch but Whinchester is having none of it.
Whinchester takes one to the chin there.
Batchiska tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Batchiska dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Whinchester. That did some damage!
Batchiska moves in looking to clinch but Whinchester pushes him off.
Batchiska lands a right hook to the body.
Danga de danga de dang - Batchiska scores with a four punch combination!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Batchiska takes the fight into the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Batchiska gets control of Whinchester's arms and successfully pulls guard. Batchiska will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Batchiska pulls Whinchester in close to prevent any damage.

Batchiska scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Batchiska closes the distance and clinches.
Batchiska lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Whinchester backwards.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Batchiska breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Whinchester keeps the fight on the outside.
Whinchester doesn't manage to clinch there - Batchiska circles away.
Batchiska throws a head kick that Whinchester semi-blocks.
Batchiska wants to clinch.

Batchiska moves into range and clinches up with Whinchester.
Whinchester tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Batchiska just stands there and leans against the cage.

Batchiska escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Whinchester closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
