Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Blackie Lawler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Reyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Reyes is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Blackie Lawler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Reyes!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reyes fails to land with a series of punches.
Reyes misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Reyes will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Reyes throws a right hand that Lawler ducks under and follows up with a left that Lawler also avoids with ease.
John Reyes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Reyes takes one to the side of the head.
The crowd cheers as Lawler lands an impressive looking overhand right. Reyes doesn't seem phased though.
Lawler avoids a punch combination nicely.
Reyes fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Reyes will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Lawler lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Lawler shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Reyes's guard.
Lawler makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Lawler has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Reyes is looking to stand up but Lawler isn't so interested in that idea.
Lawler postures up and lands a big shot to Reyes's brow.
Lawler is in close to Reyes's body, working some short punches and elbows.


Reyes is rocked!
Lawler lands a couple of elbows.
Reyes is still in real trouble! Can Lawler finish him?
Lawler connects with a couple of short punches.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lawler loads up on a big left hand. Reyes felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Lawler looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Reyes can't hide his disappointment, as Lawler celebrates the victory.
