Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nasty Jake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glen Quagmire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Glen Quagmire has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nasty Jake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Glen Quagmire!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jake misses with a two punch combination.
Jake scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!


It looks like Glen Quagmire has been cut.
Jake lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Jake fails to land with a series of punches.
Jake misses with the combination.
Quagmire shoots in and drives through. Jake sprawls well.
Quagmire fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Quagmire misses with a hook. Jake ducked under it nicely.
Jake misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jake throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Jake pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Jake looks to land a combination. Quagmire sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jake dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Quagmire throws a head kick that misses
and Jake counters with an outside leg kick.
Quagmire looks gassed!
Jake lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Quagmire circles away quickly and effectively.

Quagmire fails to land with a series of punches.
Jake throws a left and a right that both miss

and Quagmire counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Jake controls Quagmire momentarily but Quagmire frees himself.
Jake looking for a sweep. Not yet Jake, not yet.
Jake knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Quagmire on the ground.
Jake is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Jake looking to hit a scissor sweep but Quagmire is one step ahead there.

Quagmire drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Quagmire jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Quagmire trying to control but Jake is working from the bottom.

Jake seems keen to control Quagmire's posture.
Quagmire pushes down on Jake's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Jake is looking for a sweep. Quagmire is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Jake is staying active underneath Quagmire, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Quagmire is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Quagmire prevents Jake from standing back up.

Jake has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Quagmire is working away from the top position though.
Jake tries to kick Quagmire off but Quagmire keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Quagmire tries to bum rush Jake with a series of wild strikes but Jake uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Quagmire tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Quagmire has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Quagmire looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Jake is avoiding damage well.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Quagmire tries to break the clinch but Jake is controlling the position.

Jake breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Quagmire shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jake pinned against the cage. Jake gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jake throws a lazy head kick
and Quagmire counters with an outside leg kick.
Jake misses with a double jab

and Quagmire moves into the clinch.
Jake has Quagmire pushed against the cage.

Jake escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Jake buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Quagmire with a nice cross.
Jake tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Quagmire is able to avoid easily.
Jake throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Quagmire avoids the body shot from Jake.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Quagmire.
Nasty Jake has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Glen Quagmire.
Jake tries a head kick but it misses.
Quagmire tries to clinch up but Jake circles away and keeps his distance.
Jake will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jake throws a series of punches but Quagmire moves out of range.

Glen Quagmire showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Jake is trying to get back to full guard.
Jake is trying to maintain the position but Quagmire is very close to passing his half guard.

Jake is defending against the submission attempts here by Quagmire.

Quagmire looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Quagmire is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jake doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Quagmire.

I think Quagmire has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
