The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
gerard tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Slice paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A right-left combo lands from Slice.
Slice fails with a takedown attempt.
Slice shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. gerard defends it nicely.
Slice shoots in for a takedown but gerard shows good takedown defense.
jaques gerard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kimbo Slice.

and Slice counters with a nice double leg into side control. gerard won't be happy with that.

Slice thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

and Slice counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

gerard controls Slice momentarily but Slice frees himself.

Slice stands up from gerard's guard - Slice perhaps looking for a knockout.
gerard fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Slice fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Slice gets a clinch.
Slice just leaning against gerard, taking a breather.
Slice is trying to break free.

gerard's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
jaques gerard is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Slice swinging wilding here.

Kimbo Slice showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! gerard's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

gerard tries for a takedown but Slice circles away easily
and Slice makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Slice gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and gerard counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
gerard wants to control from the top but Slice keeps moving.

gerard got a little sloppy there for a moment and Slice has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, gerard has managed to get both his arms back between Slice's legs - danger averted.

Slice isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. gerard stacks Slice on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by gerard!
Slice is looking for a sweep.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Slice sneaks back into half guard.
Slice is trying to maintain the position but gerard is very close to passing his half guard.
Slice wants to control but gerard passes into side.
Slice is trying to buck gerard off.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
gerard is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Slice is trying to work for a sweep but gerard has mounted him!

gerard is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Slice keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Slice ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Slice no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
