Lake comes to the cage accompanied by Saliva - Super Star. Meadows has chosen Punky's Whips as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andrew Lake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Edwin Meadows!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Dean Styles and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lake misses with a wild combination.
Lake uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Meadows.
Lake doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Meadows gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Meadows lands a jab to the nose.
Lake uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Meadows.
Meadows defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lake.
Meadows swinging wilding here.
Meadows throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Meadows takes a swing at Lake's ribcage but misses.
Meadows slips a straight right by Lake.
Horrible takedown by Lake or perhaps it was just good defense by Meadows which made him look bad.
Meadows throws an overhand right that lands on Lake's shoulder, as Lake tries to avoid the shot.
Meadows looks to land a combination but Lake avoids it well.

Meadows throws a series of punches but Lake avoids them all with ease.

Lake really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Meadows lands with a nice combination. Lake backs away looking to recover.

Lake fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

A jab-cross combination lands for Meadows and sends Lake crashing to the mat! Meadows follows him down to the mat - Lake regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

Meadows is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Meadows wants to sweep but no luck.

Meadows has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Lake throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Meadows works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Andrew Lake seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lake uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Meadows.
Meadows throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Lake sizes up Meadows with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Nice defenses there by Lake.
Lake lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Meadows connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Lake tries to clinch but Meadows is having none of it.

Lake is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Lake changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Meadows fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Meadows gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lake to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Meadows is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Meadows stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lake swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Lake will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lake wants to sweep here but Meadows controlling him for the moment.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Meadows tries to bum rush Lake with a series of wild strikes but Lake uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Meadows swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Meadows takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Andrew Lake is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lake shoots in looking for a takedown. Meadows tries to sprawl out of it but Lake keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Meadows manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Meadows ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Edwin Meadows showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Meadows lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lake circles away quickly and effectively.
Meadows throws a combination. Lake tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Lake walks straight into a right hand from Meadows - that's dropped him! Meadows jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Lake from any more punishment! Lake complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
