PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Giovanni Pirozzi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nelson Liriano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pirozzi comes to the cage accompanied by Ladies and Gentleman. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Giovanni Pirozzi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nelson Liriano!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pirozzi shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Liriano pinned against the cage. Liriano gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Liriano throws a series of punches but Pirozzi moves out of range.
Pirozzi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Liriano as he jumps to the side.
Pirozzi shoots in but Liriano avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Giovanni Pirozzi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pirozzi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Liriano as he avoids it easily.
Liriano throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Liriano cracks Pirozzi with a good jab.
Liriano pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Liriano scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Pirozzi doesn't seem bothered though.
Pirozzi throws a right hand that Liriano ducks under and follows up with a left that Liriano also avoids with ease.
Pirozzi throws a right and a left that both miss.
Liriano lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Liriano.

Pirozzi is rocked!
Liriano cracks Pirozzi with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Pirozzi tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Liriano pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Pirozzi is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nelson Liriano!
