The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Overeem moves in looking to clinch but Beast pushes him off.
Beast swats away the attempt to clinch by Overeem.
Beast gets the takedown into side control.
Beast tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Beast misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Beast wants to lay and pray for a moment but Overeem keeps working.
The ground and pound from Beast seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Overeem struggling a bit here.
Beast decides to stand up, so the ref orders Overeem to his feet.
Overeem wants to clinch.
No joy there for Beast, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Beast lands a jab-cross combination.
Beast misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Overeem tries to clinch but Beast moves out of range.
Beast clinches up with Overeem and pushes him back against the cage.
Overeem scores with a knee to the head.
Beast looks gassed!

Overeem connects with a nasty looking knee right to Beast's face.
Beast takes a knee right on the jaw!
Beast is rocked!
Overeem jerks Beast's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Beast drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Overeem goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Overeem because Beast was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
