The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ivankov throws a head kick but Sampson moves out of range.
Sampson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ivankov swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sampson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
No joy there for Sampson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Ivankov shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sampson napping and manages to drive through into side control!
