PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ronin Samurai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Grayson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the ring it seems that Ronin Samurai has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Ronin Samurai seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Samurai.

Samurai shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Samurai showed some decent athleticism there.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Samurai is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Samurai looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Grayson has picked Samurai up and slammed him! Samurai can't keep hold of the triangle and Grayson manages to pass to side control!

Grayson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Samurai kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Samurai has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Grayson is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Samurai.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Grayson is looking to take a break and control but Samurai is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Ronin Samurai overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

You can see the frustration on Grayson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Samurai is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Grayson tries to free his leg and advance position but Samurai is retaining full guard.

Samurai has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Grayson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ronin Samurai.
I think Samurai has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
