Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joe Shadow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edgar Poe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Joe Shadow has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Joe Shadow seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Steve Montenegro and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shadow leaves Poe with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Shadow rushes Poe and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Shadow is trying to break the clinch but Poe is controlling him.
Shadow stalls.
Shadow tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Poe jumps guard but Shadow stands there with Poe around his waist. Poe gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Shadow moves in looking to clinch but Poe pushes him off.

Poe shoots in looking for a takedown. Shadow tries to sprawl out of it but Poe keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Shadow manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Joe Shadow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Edgar Poe.
Shadow rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Poe moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Poe is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
