The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marques closes the distance and clinches.
Marques fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Marques looking for a takedown.
Marques gets underhooks to prevent Man's takedown attempt.
Man fails to pull guard.
Man blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Marques breaks from the clinch.
Marques misses with a takedown attempt - Man sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Big Man has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Victor Marques.

Marques closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Man is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Marques is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Marques has escaped and now he's on top!

Man working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Marques doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Marques manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Man had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Marques is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Man Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Marques's back instead.
