PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Dean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karma Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jimmy Dean!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Karma Burns!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Daniel Blasius and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns closes the distance and clinches up with Dean, looking for a takedown. Burns pushes Dean against the cage but Dean circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Dean shoots and misses

and Burns decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Dean's guard.
Dean is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Burns drops back looking for a leg! Dean is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dean manages to kick Burns off! Burns jumps back into Dean's guard.

Dean is looking for a triangle but Burns pushes his legs off easily.
Burns is looking to stand up but Dean won't let him.
Dean throws a couple of heel strikes.

Dean throws his legs up looking for a submission but Burns uses it to pass to side control.
Burns looks up at the clock and then as Dean takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Burns smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Burns wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dean, who protects the arm well.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Burns is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Dean is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Dean tries to improve position but can't.

Burns controls the position.
Dean is looking to reverse the position.
Dean regains half guard.
Dean is breathing heavily.

Burns seems to be working for a kimura but Dean defends the submission attempt.
Dean misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Dean wants to improve his position but Burns is controlling well.
Dean makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Dean.
Burns must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Burns is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Burns drops back looking for a leg! Dean is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dean manages to kick Burns off! Burns jumps back into Dean's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Burns is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Dean missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Dean postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Burns is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Dean, into his guard.

Dean doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Burns counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Burns slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Burns lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Dean down.

Dean is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Burns's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Burns is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Dean is refusing to be controlled, as Burns sits in half guard.

Karma Burns has got the better of the ground game so far.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Burns looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Dean bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Dean has hold of Burns's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Burns seems comfortable defending it but Dean has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Burns is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Burns is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Dean couldn't care less - he's delighted!
