PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lord Vader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Waul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Vader might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Sweep the Leg. Lord Vader has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vader keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Waul throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Waul ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Vader moves away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Paul Waul seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vader ducks straight into an uppercut from Waul and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Vader maanges to regain guard straight away.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Waul is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Vader is just riding it out for now. Waul eventually gives up the hold.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Vader throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Waul has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Vader throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Waul.
Waul drops Vader with a left and a right! Oh, Vader is hurt - Waul dives into side control looking to finish!

It looks like Lord Vader has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Waul looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Vader pushes Waul away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Waul gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Vader seems to have got his legs back now.
Waul creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Vader sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Vader throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Waul scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Waul drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Vader manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Waul has Vader in his guard.
