And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dallas Gillespie!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Leandro Rodrigues and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Gillespie circles away.
Gillespie fails with the takedown.

Gillespie gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Jackson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Gillespie is trying to keep Jackson in close.
Jackson passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Gillespie sneaks back into half guard.
Jackson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gillespie is looking to improve his position.
Gillespie is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Jackson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Gillespie looks gassed!

Gillespie actively working from the bottom here.
Jackson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Gillespie looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Jackson is taking a breather. Gillespie says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Gillespie trying to control but Jackson postures up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Jackson misses with a takedown attempt

so Gillespie counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Gillespie throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jackson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Gillespie advances position into side control!

Gillespie has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Jackson is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Gillespie yanks on the arm and Jackson is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Gillespie.
