Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sandy Hawkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jarvis Chapman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hawkins might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Enter Sandman. Sandy Hawkins has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sandy Hawkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jarvis Chapman!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Elvis Blanc and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chapman fails to land with a series of punches.
Hawkins works Chapman's body with a nice hook.
Hawkins throws a head kick but Chapman moves out of range.
Hawkins cracks a nice hook into Chapman's ribs.
Chapman looks gassed!
Hawkins lands with a shot to the body.

Hawkins decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hawkins is looking to advance position but Chapman won't allow it.
Hawkins throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Hawkins postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Chapman to stand up.
Chapman avoids the head kick by Hawkins.

Hawkins forces Chapman back against the cage and clinches.
Chapman takes a knee to the side of the body.

Hawkins's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hawkins plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!


It looks like Jarvis Chapman has been cut.
Chapman takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.


Chapman is rocked!
Crunch! Hawkins slams his shin into Chapman's torso.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hawkins shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Chapman but Chapman pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Hawkins shoots in looking for a takedown. Chapman tries to sprawl out of it but Hawkins keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Chapman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jarvis Chapman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Hawkins darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Still in half guard, Hawkins seems content to control.

Hawkins is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Hawkins throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Hawkins content to control rather than advance.

Hawkins is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Hawkins is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Hawkins gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Hawkins closes the distance and clinches.
Chapman misses with a knee to the head.
Hawkins jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Chapman walks away with a smile on his face. Hawkins gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sandy Hawkins. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hawkins lands a right hook to the body.
Hawkins wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Hawkins fails to land the takedown.

Hawkins fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Chapman, pushing him back against the cage.
Hawkins is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Chapman is fighting off a takedown attempt but Hawkins is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Chapman to the mat. Chapman regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hawkins wants to control from the top but Chapman keeps moving.
Hawkins wants to stand but Chapman has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chapman can't keep his opponent in guard - Hawkins advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hawkins slows the pace down in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Jarvis Chapman's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Chapman wants to clinch
and Hawkins counters with a nice body shot.
Sandy Hawkins is winning the standup battle so far.
Hawkins fails to land the takedown.
Hawkins throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
An inside leg kick lands from Hawkins.
Hawkins shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Chapman sprawls well. Chapman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hawkins gets slowly back to his feet.

Chapman gets underhooks to prevent Hawkins's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sandy Hawkins. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hawkins throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Chapmans head.
Hawkins lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Chapman is breathing heavily.
Chapman gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hawkins.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hawkins is trying to drag Chapman to the mat but Chapman just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Hawkins has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Chapman uses from the top position.

Hawkins wants to hit a switch here but Chapman passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Hawkins there!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hawkins makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Hawkins.
Hawkins looking for a sweep. Not yet Hawkins, not yet.

Hawkins controls Chapman momentarily but Chapman frees himself.

Hawkins is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Chapman can do to turn this around?

Hawkins wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Hawkins throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Hawkins looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Hawkins is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Hawkins wants to pass the guard but Chapman is defending well.
Hawkins trying to control the action but Chapman is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chapman takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Hawkins frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Chapman avoids a series of strikes thrown by Hawkins.
Hawkins throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

Poor strikes thrown by Hawkins there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hawkins throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Chapman because Hawkins loaded up on that one.
Hawkins throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Hawkins tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Hawkins can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Chapman is looking to escape.
Hawkins has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hawkins unloads with some shots from mount but Chapman bucks and avoids them well.

Hawkins working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Chapman looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Hawkins! Submission of the night perhaps?
