The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Paulo Santos and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darnielle gets a clinch.
A battle for position here, against the cage.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Plissken wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Darnielle has him pressed against the cage.
Darnielle lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
It looks like SD Plissken has been cut.
Darnielle lands an elbow just above Plissken 's eye.
A frustrated look appears on Plissken's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Darnielle misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Plissken.

Darnielle lands an elbow that stopped Plissken in his tracks for a moment.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Darnielle comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
That has opened up SD Plissken's cut even more.
Plissken drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Darnielle pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Darnielle lands a nice elbow.
Plissken takes an elbow to the forehead.

Plissken has Darnielle pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Darnielle manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Darnielle pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Darnielle has Plissken pressed against the cage, preventing Plissken from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
The is referee keeping an eye on Darnielle - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Darnielle comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
The cut above SD Plissken's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Plissken blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Plissken has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Darnielle is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
John Darnielle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of SD Plissken.
Darnielle lands an elbow inside.
Plissken is trying to drag Darnielle to the mat but Darnielle just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Darnielle comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
SD Plissken's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at SD Plissken's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
