Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Junie Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Merv Bungay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Merv Bungay will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Merv Bungay!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva tries a head kick but it misses.
Silva fails with a takedown attempt.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Silva.
Bungay looks to score with a jab to the body but Silva is just out of range.
Some wild striking there from Bungay.

Bungay tried to score with a low kick but Silva checks it.
Silva shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bungay's guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Bungay holds on and takes a little breather.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva wants to control from the top but Bungay keeps moving.
Bungay is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Silva accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Silva has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Silva walks into a left hand.
Bungay scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Silva tries to land a front kick but Bungay steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Bungay scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Bungay goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
It looks like Junie Silva has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Silva dodges the punch combination from Bungay.
Bungay fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Silva looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Silva is breathing heavily.

Bungay swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Silva.
Silva fails with an attempt to clinch.
A combination from Silva does no damage.
No joy there for Bungay, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Silva throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bungay's waist but Bungay gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Silva off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Junie Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bungay fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Bungay wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Silva has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
An inside leg kick lands from Bungay.
Merv Bungay is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Silva will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Silva takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Bungay punishes Silva's body with a nice straight punch.

Bungay lands a nice shot that snaps Silva's head back.

A low kick from Silva is predictable there
and Bungay counters with a straight right hand.
Bungay connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Silva's hands.
Bungay drops Silva with a straight right hand, right on the button! Bungay follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
