Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dre Battle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Rawse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Battle's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, VICTORY REMIX. The crowd seem to be enjoying Rawse's choice of entrance music: Hustlin'. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dre Battle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rick Rawse!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rawse decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Battle looks like he's trying to stand up.
Rawse wants to pass the guard but Battle is defending well.
Battle makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Battle.
Rawse throws a strike but Battle rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Rawse looking for a guillotine here but Battle defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rawse is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Battle defends well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Battle stopping the sweep attempt from Rawse.
Rawse trying to strike off his back.
Rawse can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Battle controls the pace.

Rawse has his foot on Battle's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Battle works his way back into a safe position though.
Battle tries to stand but Rawse is controlling from the bottom.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rawse looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Battle displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rawse.
Battle throws out a powerful jab.
Battle lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Rawse throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Battle's waist but Battle gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rawse off to one side.
Battle lands with a shot to the body.
Rawse looks gassed!
Battle connects with a nice looking jab.
Battle's corner calls for a 1-2. Battle obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Good exchange - Battle coming out on top.
Battle lands a really nice looking cross but Rawse seems unphased.
Rawse gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Battle ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rawse takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Battle lands a lovely overhand right.
Battle goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Good exchange - Battle coming out on top.
Battle connects with a looping right hand.
Battle is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Battle lands a nice shot to the body.
Battle getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Rawse walks into a stiff left hand from Battle.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Good shot there by Battle.
Battle displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Rawse takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Battle cracks Rawse with a good jab.


Rawse is rocked!
Battle punishes Rawse's body with a nice straight punch.
Rawse is still on wobbly legs! Can Battle finish him?

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Battle!
Battle connects with a nice cross there... Rawse is looking wobbly and Battle recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Rawse to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Battle jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Dre Battle!
