Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Long (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stan Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ross has chosen Killing in the Name of (Remix) as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Marcus Long!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Stan Ross!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, William Gold and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ross has closed the distance and engaged Long in a clinch.
Long gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Long using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Ross has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Ross has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Long clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Ross scores with punches to the body.
Ross has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Long trying to control the hands but Ross breaks the grip.
Long tries to escape but Ross has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Ross throwing wild punches that miss their target.
Ross slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Ross keeps control of the position as Long tries to break free.
Ross lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Long hold on?!

Ross wants to control the position but Long frees himself and scrambles - Ross manages to regain control in side control.

Long is not content to let Ross control the position.
Ross tries to move into full mount but can't pass Long's legs.

Ross decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Ross tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Long paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ross is looking to slow Long down with leg kicks.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Long using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Ross has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Ross has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Long is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Long throws a knee to the head but misses.
Long is breathing heavily.
Long tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Long.
Ross taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Ross is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Ross managing to block the knees to the body from Long.

Long is fighting off a takedown attempt but Ross is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Long to the mat. Long regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Ross tries to free his leg and advance position but Long is retaining full guard.

Ross is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Ross trying to control the position from guard on top but Long is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Long working for submissions but it's allowed Ross to get to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Long is staying active underneath Ross, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stan Ross dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Ross drives through and clinches with Long against the cage.
Long wants to break free but Ross has control.
Ross wants to stall.
Long throws an elbow that misses.
Ross is trying to drag Long to the mat but Long just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Long gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Ross.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Long just misses with a elbow thrown towards Ross's brow.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Marcus Long has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stan Ross.
Ross tries to score a body lock takedown but Long shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Ross drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Long gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ross manages to pull guard.
Long stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ross swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Ross thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Ross not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Ross keeping moving, preventing Long from controlling successfully.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Long won't allow Ross to get back to his feet.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Long clinches but Ross breaks the clinch
and Ross counters with an inside leg kick.
Marcus Long is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Ross looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Long is fending him off so far but Ross persists. Nope, Long circles away and we're back to standing.

Ross has closed the distance and engaged Long in a clinch.
Still in the clinch, Long scores with a nice short uppercut.
Long looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Long is working Ross over against the cage.
Ross working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Ross has Long pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Long manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Ross stalling in the clinch but Long improves position.
Ross can't get the takedown.
Ross tries to pull guard but Long holds him up against the cage and eventually Ross drops back down to his feet.

Ross shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Long wants to control but Ross is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Long wants to get back to full guard.
Ross passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Long!

Ross looking to control but Long is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Ross controlling his opponent.
Long can't escape the position.
The referee warns Long that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Ross lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Ross cracks Long with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Ross takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stan Ross showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Ross tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Long swivels and escapes.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ross.
Marcus Long seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Long throws a leg kick

and Ross moves into the clinch.
Ross stalling in the clinch but Long improves position.
Long lands a left hand that snaps the head of Ross backwards.
Ross goes for a takedown attempt but Long pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Marcus Long has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stan Ross.

and Ross counters by clinching up.
Ross tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Long just stands there and leans against the cage.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Ross jumps guard but Long stands there with Ross around his waist. Ross gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Ross on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Ross ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ross no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Ross is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Ross is looking for a kimura but Long is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ross to get the leverage.

Ross seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Long does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Ross escapes and gets back to his feet.

Ross moves into the clinch successfully.

Long wants to sweep here but Ross controlling him for the moment.

Ross gets to his feet. Long looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Marcus Long has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

and Ross counters by clinching up.
Ross changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Long fights it off and pushes away nicely.

so Ross counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Ross tries to free his leg and advance position but Long is retaining full guard.
Long can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ross controls the pace.
Ross is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Long being controlled here, momentarily.
Ross wants to get up but he can't break Long's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rossis looking to pass into half guard but Long pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Long is in guard.
Long won't allow Ross to get back to his feet.
Stan Ross is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Ross is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Stan Ross comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ross has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
