Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like Slav Gromadov has been cut.

Gromadov shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Gromadov is taking a breather. Hierowato says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Gromadov wants to free his trapped foot but Hierowato is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Hierowato is looking to control Gromadov's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hierowato avoid being mounted?

Gromadov looks to land a strike but Hierowato avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Gromadov misses with a double jab.
Gromadov throws an overhand right that lands on Hierowato's shoulder, as Hierowato tries to avoid the shot.
Slav Gromadov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Hierowato counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Gromadov is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Gromadov's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Hierowato lands a jab to the nose.

Gromadov fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hierowato, pushing him back against the cage.

Gromadov has his foot on Hierowato's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hierowato works his way back into a safe position though.

Hierowato stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gromadov swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hierowato avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Gromadov had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Hierowato is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Gromadov Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Hierowato's back instead.
Hierowato turns into Gromadov and is now in his guard.

Gromadov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Gromadov thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Gromadov has hold of Hierowato's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Hierowato seems comfortable defending it but Gromadov has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Hierowato is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Hierowato is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Gromadov couldn't care less - he's delighted!
