The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardy tries to clinch up.
Hardy throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Hardy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hardy swats away the attempt to clinch by Kampmann.

Kampmann feints and as Hardy raises his hands in defense, Kampmann changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hardy looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hardy utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Hardy is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Hardy is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Kampmann controls from within his opponent's guard.
Kampmann trying to control but Hardy is working from the bottom.

Hardy preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Kampmann drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Kampmann is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hardy knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Hardy is looking to reverse the position.

Kampmann is working to tighten is grip on Hardy's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Hardy has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Kampmann is really squeezing tight and eventually Hardy passes out! Kampmann breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
