Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between BJ Fenn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chilo Menga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for BJ Fenn has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, BJ Fenn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chilo Menga!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Menga or perhaps it was just good defense by Fenn which made him look bad.

Fenn clinches up with Menga and pushes him back against the cage.
Fenn wants to get back to striking at distance but Menga won't allow it.
Menga wants a takedown.
Fenn tries to break the clinch but Menga is controlling the position.
Fenn wants to break free but Menga has control.
A right handed body shot lands from Menga.

Menga has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Fenn regains guard immediately.
Fenn wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Menga manages to pass to side control.
Menga is looking to take a break and control but Fenn is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Fenn is trying to stand.

Menga is looking for a kimura but Fenn is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Menga to get the leverage.

Fenn tries to roll over but Menga keeps him under control.
Menga wants to take a breather but Fenn is having none of it.
Menga prevents Fenn from improving his position.
Menga seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Fenn does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Menga shoots in for a takedown but Fenn shows good takedown defense.
BJ Fenn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chilo Menga.

Menga misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Menga shoots in but Fenn avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Fenn moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Fenn lands with a straight right. Menga didn't see that one coming.
Menga takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Fenn keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Fenn lands a head shot.
Fenn scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Menga throws a left and a right that both miss
and Fenn counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Menga avoids the head kick by Fenn.

Menga scores a takedown into full mount!
Fenn holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Menga tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Fenn is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Menga looking for a guillotine from mount but Fenn is having none of it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Menga blocks Fenn's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Fenn is looking to improve his position but Menga isn't that keen on the idea.

Menga stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Menga tries to clinch but Fenn moves away
and Fenn counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Fenn lands with an uppercut that bounces Menga off the cage and back into rage.
Menga shoots and misses
and Fenn counters with a low kick, right behind Menga 's knee.
Menga gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Fenn counters with a stiff right hand.
Fenn bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.


Menga is rocked!
Menga takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Menga is still on wobbly legs! Can Fenn finish him?

Fenn shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Fenn was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Menga tries to strike from the bottom but he's left himself exposed and Fenn has taken his back.
Fenn doesn't have the hooks in and Menga manages to turn into his guard.
Menga trying to control the position from guard on top but Fenn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fenn pulls Menga in to control the position.

Fenn working for a triangle but Menga defends it easily.
Menga seems to have recovered his senses.
Menga loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Menga stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fenn swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that BJ Fenn will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Menga tries for a takedown but Fenn circles away easily

and Fenn counters with a single leg into guard. Menga didn't expect that.

Menga working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fenn doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fenn manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Menga has a closed guard, preventing Fenn from standing up.

Fenn gets to his feet - Menga follows without any prompting.
Fenn misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Fenn tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Fenn throws an overhand right that lands on Menga's shoulder, as Menga tries to avoid the shot.
Menga tries to clinch but Fenn is having none of it.
Menga takes a kick to the side of the head.

Fenn misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Menga fails with the takedown
and Fenn counters with a right hand to the body.
Fenn slips a jab and a cross from Menga.
Fenn fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Fenn lands a nice shot to the body.
Fenn lands a nice leg kick that just misses Menga's sensitive parts.

and Fenn counters with a series of strikes. Menga will be more careful next time no doubt.

Fenn has closed the distance and engaged Menga in a clinch.
Fenn wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Menga has him pressed against the cage.
Fenn wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fenn has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Menga can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Menga avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Menga drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Fenn dives on top into guard.
Fenn wants to stand but Menga is controlling his posture from full guard.
Fenn has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Menga is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Menga wants to pass the guard but Fenn is defending well.
Menga is tying to control. Fenn wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Fenn flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Fenn rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Menga moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Fenn stands up and we're back to a striking position.

and Fenn counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Menga wants to control from the top but Fenn keeps moving.
Menga works over Fenn with some ground and pound from guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

BJ Fenn dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Menga doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Fenn counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Fenn.
Fenn wants to get back to striking at distance but Menga won't allow it.
Menga wants a takedown.

Menga has hold of one of Fenn's legs. Fenn is fighting the takedown attempt but Menga gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Menga has gone for a leg lock! Fenn slips out almost immediately though and dives into Menga's guard.
Menga bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Fenn's guard.

Fenn wants to control but Menga passes easily into half guard.
Fenn makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Fenn.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Menga drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Menga jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Fenn trying to keep a closed guard but Menga is proving a slippery customer.
Menga is standing up over Fenn. Fenn looks to escape but Menga dives into side control.

Menga is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Fenn is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Fenn wants to control but Menga postures up.
Fenn is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Menga is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Fenn throws Menga to one side and escapes!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Fenn connects with a nice looking jab.
Fenn's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Fenn duly obliges.

Menga decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Menga tries to pass the half guard into mount. Fenn knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Menga is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Fenn doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Menga.
Fenn is staying active underneath Menga, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Fenn wants to get back to his feet.

Menga stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Menga throws a combination that misses
and Fenn counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Menga is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Fenn fails to land with a series of punches.
A nice combination there by Fenn.
Fenn looks to land a combination. Menga sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Fenn throws a series of punches but Menga avoids them all with ease.
Menga swings for the body but Fenn moves out of range.
Fenn thows a body shot but no joy.
Menga closes the distance and clinches up with Fenn, looking for a takedown. Menga pushes Fenn against the cage but Fenn circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Chilo Menga comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Fenn has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
