Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joe Stevenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabrico Haiti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Stevenson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Lose Yourself. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joe Stevenson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fabrico Haiti!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Thiago Cunha and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haiti looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Stevenson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Haiti is looking for a sweep. Stevenson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Stevenson stands up and beckons Haiti to join him on the feet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Haiti counters with a shoot takedown. Stevenson fights it but they end up in guard.

Stevenson wants to get back to full guard.
Haiti throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Haiti thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Stevenson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Stevenson.
Haiti would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Stevenson pushes Haiti off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Haiti tries for a takedown but Stevenson circles away easily

so Stevenson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Stevenson stands up and waves to Haiti to follow him.

Haiti shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Stevenson counters with a shoot takedown. Haiti fights it but they end up in guard.
Joe Stevenson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fabrico Haiti.
Stevenson lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Haiti tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Stevenson throws and elbow that misses. Haiti uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Stevenson's guard. Nice move by Haiti!

Stevenson throws his legs up looking for a submission but Haiti uses it to pass to side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Haiti decides to stand up, so the ref orders Stevenson to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Haiti fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Stevenson, pushing him back against the cage.
Haiti struggles to land a body shot inside as Stevenson controls his hands.

Stevenson has gone for a leg lock! Haiti slips out almost immediately though and dives into Stevenson's guard.

Haiti is fighting to break Stevenson's control of his arms but Stevenson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Stevenson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Haiti tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Haiti wants to hold on but Stevenson pushes him away.
Haiti is desperately trying to improve his position but Stevenson has a good base and remains in mount.
Stevenson fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Stevenson lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Haiti is bucking up trying to escape but Stevenson cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Stevenson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Haiti is looking to escape.

Stevenson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Haiti keeps working.
Stevenson winds up and cracks Haiti with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Haiti wants to control but Stevenson passes easily into half guard.

Haiti tries to kick Stevenson off but Stevenson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Stevenson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Haiti with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Still in half guard, Stevenson seems content to control.

Haiti is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Haiti is trying to maintain the position but Stevenson is very close to passing his half guard.
Haiti tries to get to full guard but Stevenson has control of the leg.

Stevenson stands up and beckons Haiti to join him on the feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Stevenson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Haiti wants to get back to his feet.
Stevenson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Haiti wants to improve his position but Stevenson is controlling well.
Haiti is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Stevenson scores with a couple of nice shots.

Well Stevenson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
