Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vincent Edge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derek Berry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Edge looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Berry closes the distance and pushes Edge back into the cage.
Berry wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Edge stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Berry swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Edge stands up and beckons Berry to join him on the feet.
Edge changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Berry looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Berry throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Edge tries for a kimura but Berry is defending well.

and Edge counters with a shoot takedown. Berry fights it but they end up in guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Berry accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Edge utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Berry wants to clinch up but Edge keeps it at a distance.
Berry shoots in looking for a takedown. Edge tries to sprawl out of it but Berry keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Edge manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The fight moves into the clinch position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Edge, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
