PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Danny Beer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reggie Fisk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Beer might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Be somebody. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Danny Beer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Reggie Fisk!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Donald Grub and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fisk avoids a punch combination nicely.
Beer drops Fisk with a nice combination! Beer dives into Fisk's guard, looking to finish!


It looks like Reggie Fisk has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Fisk punching from the bottom - just letting Beer know he's still in a fight.
Beer would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Beer has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Fisk is proving hard to escape from.

Beer is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Fisk is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Fisk has escaped and now he's on top!

Fisk is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Fisk is looking to work some ground and pound but Beer has wrist control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fisk is in close to Beer's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Beer is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Beer pushes Fisk off and scrambles back to his feet.
Beer will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Beer could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Fisk tries for a takedown but Beer sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Beer closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Beer is breathing heavily.
Beer is looking to take a break and control but Fisk is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Fisk works his way to full guard. Good work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fisk looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Beer puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Fisk tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Fisk throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fisk tries to get to full guard but Beer has control of the leg.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Beer counters with a single leg into guard. Fisk didn't expect that.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Beer would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Beer trying to control but Fisk is working from the bottom.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Fisk moves out of range of the strikes.
Beer uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Fisk.

and Beer counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Fisk's guard now.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Beer shoots in but Fisk avoids the takedown attempt easily.

and Beer counters with a series of strikes. Fisk will be more careful next time no doubt.
Danny Beer is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

You can see the frustration on Beer's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Beer is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Fisk has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Beer lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Beer is looking to take a break and control but Fisk is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Beer tries to clinch but Fisk is having none of it.
Fisk shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Beer counters with a two punch combo.
Danny Beer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Reggie Fisk.
Fisk shoots for a double leg takedown but Beer sprawls well. He's pushed Fisk's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Fisk tries to keep at a distance but Beer has taken the fight into the clinch.
Beer has Fisk pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Fisk manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Beer is trying to break free.
Beer has had enough of the clinch but Fisk keeps him there for the moment.

Fisk tightens his grip and picks Beer up, before dumping him to the ground. Beer manages to land in guard.
Beer is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Fisk is controlling him.
Fisk lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Danny Beer overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Beer working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fisk doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fisk manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Beer might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Beer changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fisk tries to avoid it but Beer manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fisk to the ground. Fisk escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Fisk takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fisk can do anything to dispel that myth.

Beer decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Beer throws a sloppy head kick

and Fisk counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Beer wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Fisk gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Beer looking for a kimura from the bottom but Fisk passes into side control!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fisk wants to lay and pray for a moment but Beer keeps working.
Beer throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
Beer wants to control but Fisk postures up.
A control attempt from Beer but he's now mounted!
Fisk blocks Beer's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Beer is bucking up trying to escape but Fisk cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Beer bucks up and throws Fisk to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape!

And that's the end of the fight!
Danny Beer showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Beer has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
