Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dane ONeill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nickolay Tepiaev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dane ONeill could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Nickolay Tepiaev's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dane ONeill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nickolay Tepiaev!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Konstantin Menshow and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tepiaev throws a nice looking combination but ONeill bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Tepiaev tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Tepiaev rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but ONeill moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

ONeill scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
ONeill misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

ONeill goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Tepiaev rolls with the submission and now he's on top in ONeill's guard! Nice work there by Tepiaev!
ONeill throws a couple of heel strikes.
Tepiaev wants to stand but ONeill is controlling his posture from full guard.

ONeill is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

ONeill has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tepiaev can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
ONeill trying to keep a closed guard but Tepiaev is proving a slippery customer.
Tepiaev is fighting to break ONeill's control of his arms but ONeill is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
ONeill trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
ONeill is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
ONeill is breathing heavily.

ONeill is trying to control the position but Tepiaev postures up.
Tepiaev trying to stand up but can't free himself from ONeill's guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Tepiaev misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

ONeill shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

ONeill perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Tepiaev is trying to escape back to his feet but ONeill uses the scramble to pass into side control.

ONeill decides to take the fight back to the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Tepiaev gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
ONeill might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
ONeill landing with the ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as ONeill accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Tepiaev is working an open guard so ONeill takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Tepiaev looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

ONeill changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tepiaev looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
ONeill remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

ONeill tries to advance to mount but can't.
Tepiaev is letting ONeill control him for a moment.
ONeill lands some shots froms side control.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
ONeill tries to score with some ground and pound. Tepiaev controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Tepiaev takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
ONeill is putting a hurting on Tepiaev here, landing some big shots from side control.

ONeill lands a decent elbow from side control.

ONeill is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Tepiaev has escaped the position, nice work there.
ONeill trying to control the action but Tepiaev is working from the bottom.

ONeill passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Tepiaev!
ONeill working away from the top, dropping strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
ONeill lands a nice shot to the head.
ONeill lands a big elbow.
ONeill controlling his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dane ONeill dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!



ONeill feints and as Tepiaev raises his hands in defense, ONeill changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Tepiaev keeping moving, preventing ONeill from controlling successfully.
Tepiaev is looking to stand up but ONeill isn't so interested in that idea.
Tepiaev utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
ONeill is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

ONeill keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Tepiaev's head.

ONeill stands up from Tepiaev's guard - ONeill perhaps looking for a knockout.

ONeill scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Tepiaev keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Tepiaev is trying to stand up here but ONeill is controlling him well.

ONeill is looking for a kimura here.

ONeill lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
ONeill trying to control from Tepiaev's half guard. Tepiaev has other ideas though and has regained full guard.

ONeill is in close to Tepiaev's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Dane ONeill overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
ONeill's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Tepiaev really doesn't want to stay on the ground with ONeill. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
ONeill with a flurry of punches that miss.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
ONeill seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
ONeill seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Tepiaev for as long as he can get away with.
Dane ONeill is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
ONeill works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Well ONeill has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
