Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tin Mann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Bay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bay is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Feuer Frei. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tin Mann!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Thomas Bay!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Skip Squint and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bay leaves Mann with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Bay misses with a kick to the body.
Mann avoids the head kick by Bay.

Bay bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Mann tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Bay is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mann knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Bay closes the distance and pushes Mann back into the cage.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Mann.
Bay tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Mann avoids it.

Mann jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bay walks away with a smile on his face. Mann gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Bay changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mann looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Bay wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mann keeps working.
Bay is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Mann's shoulder. That is not cool.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mann is working to avoid the ground and pound but Bay connects with a decent elbow.
Mann takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bay is looking to take a break and control but Mann is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Bay lands a few punches from side control.
Bay is working Mann over with some ground and pound from side control.

Bay is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mann is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Bay looks up at the clock and then as Mann takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Bay smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bay connects with a nice short shot to Mann's temple.
Mann wants to improve his position but Bay is controlling well.

Bay wants to control but Mann is keeping him busy.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Bay drives through and clinches with Mann against the cage.
Bay lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Bay lands a nice knee to the body.

Bay turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Mann is not content to let Bay control the position.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Mann is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Bay pulls his head out easily.
Bay seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mann does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Bay thows a huge punch but Mann dodges it nicely.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Mann tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bay swivels and escapes.
Bay is looking to clinch.
Bay throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Mann's head.
Bay motions for Mann to come forward. Bay throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Bay misses with a few strikes there.
Bay plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Bay fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mann avoids the head kick by Bay.
Bay throws a jab but it's blocked by Mann.
Mann tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bay swivels and escapes.
A solid leg kick lands there for Bay.
Bay cracks the inside of Mann's front leg.
Mann shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Bay makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Mann really felt that one!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Mann shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Mann was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

I would just about give that final round to Thomas Bay.
Well Bay has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
