Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phil Maycock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Big Guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Big Guy will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Phil Maycock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Big Guy!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Andrew Berry and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guy shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Maycock shoots in but no luck this time.

Maycock scores with a takedown into Guy's guard.
Guy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Maycock. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Guy wants to stand and escape but Maycock is having none of it.
Guy controls Maycock momentarily but Maycock frees himself.
Maycock might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Maycock prevents Guy from getting back to his feet.
Maycock could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Maycock trying to control the position from guard on top but Guy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Maycock trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Maycock trying to control but Guy is working from the bottom.
Maycock is breathing heavily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Maycock wants to free his trapped foot but Guy is holding on for dear life with his legs.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Maycock has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Guy finds it's way round the side to connect with Maycock's head.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Maycock.
Guy misses with a body kick.
Guy throws a right and a left that both miss.
Maycock showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Guy.
Guy stalks Maycock and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Maycock's face. Maycock staggers backwards, shaken.
Guy will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Guy swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Guy misses with a wild combination.

Maycock shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Maycock showed some decent athleticism there.
Maycock has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Maycock looking to control and managing it successfully.
Guy tries to hold on but Maycock pushes him away.

Guy really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Maycock can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Guy is looking to escape.
Guy is trying desperately to improve position.
Maycock moves to back control.

Guy defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Maycock is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Guy knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Guy for a finish.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Guy is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Maycock gets his way!

Guy will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
The fight stays on the outside here - Guy looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Guy looks to land a combination but Maycock avoids it well.

and Maycock counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Still in half guard, Maycock seems content to control.
Maycock seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Guy for as long as he can get away with.

Maycock looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Maycock is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Guy is just riding it out for now. Maycock eventually gives up the hold.

Maycock is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Maycock is looking to pass Guy's guard but actually Guy recovers to full guard.
Guy can't keep his opponent in guard - Maycock advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Maycock passes to side control.
Maycock takes a little break here. Guy wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Guy is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Guy is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Maycock off and has taken his back!
Guy has the hooks in. Maycock is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Guy doesn't have the hooks in and Maycock manages to turn into his guard.

Guy has one foot on Maycock's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Guy bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Guy throws a low kick but it's checked well by Maycock.

and Maycock counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Maycock not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Maycock drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Guy dives on top into guard.
Guy has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Maycock is proving hard to escape from.

That's time! Maycock's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

It looks like Phil Maycock has been cut.

and Maycock decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Guy's guard.
Maycock controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Maycock stands and throws Guy's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Maycock works to advance to full mount. Guy defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Maycock is really struggling to control Guy but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Maycock has control of Guy's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Guy regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Guy has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Maycock's lack of action.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Maycock is looking to advance position but Guy won't allow it.
Maycock sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Maycock is looking to take a break and control but Guy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Phil Maycock just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Guy throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Guy makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Guy's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Guy duly obliges.

Maycock bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Maycock passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Guy!
Maycock moves to back control.
Guy is keeping busy.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Guy breaks Maycock's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Maycock looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Maycock had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Guy is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Maycock Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Guy's back instead.
Guy breaks Maycock's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Maycock looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Maycock looking for a guillotine here but Guy defends easily.
Guy is looking to stand up but Maycock won't let him.
Maycock pulls Guy in to control the position.

Maycock keeping busy on the bottom but Guy has passed one foot through into half guard.
Maycock is trying to maintain the position but Guy is very close to passing his half guard.
Big Guy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Maycock is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Guy's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Guy's back!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Maycock, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
