Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pierre Leblanc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cheick Kongo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leblanc comes to the cage accompanied by dirty house. Pierre Leblanc has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kongo tries to clinch there but Leblanc circles away.
Kongo fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nice sprawl there from Kongo as Leblanc shoots in.

Kongo gets a takedown into half guard.
Leblanc is breathing heavily.
Kongo works his way into full mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like Pierre Leblanc has been cut.

Leblanc tries to buck Kongo off but he can't manage it.

Kongo postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Leblanc looks a forlorn figure.

Kongo cracks Leblanc with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Leblanc on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Leblanc tries to get out of the position.
You get the feeling that Leblanc really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Kongo controlling from mount.

Leblanc is squirming around, avoiding Kongo's attempts to control the action.

Kongo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Leblanc as he avoids it easily.
Leblanc is looking to score with low kicks.
Kongo moves in looking to clinch but Leblanc pushes him off.
Kongo fails in his attempt to clinch.
Leblanc shoots for a double leg takedown but Kongo sprawls well. He's pushed Leblanc's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Kongo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Leblanc paws at him with a jab and circles away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kongo manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Kongo with shots to the head and body - Leblanc looks very uncomfortable down there.

Leblanc's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kongo in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Kongo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Leblanc is looking to escape.
Cheick Kongo has got the better of the ground game so far.
Leblanc wants to get back to his feet.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Kongo cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Cheick Kongo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Kongo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Leblanc circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kongo looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Leblanc misses with a double jab

and Kongo counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Leblanc's guard now.
Kongo seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Kongo gets to his feet. Leblanc looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Leblanc wants to get up but he can't break Kongo's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Kongo manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Leblanc's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kongo controlling the pace for now.
Kongo tries to control but Leblanc wriggling away.
Leblanc knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kongo on the ground.
Leblanc is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Kongo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Kongo won't let Leblanc get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Kongo is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Leblanc can't fight it off and eventually Kongo manages to take the fight to the floor. Leblanc looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Leblanc will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Cheick Kongo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kongo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
