Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sam Neckpunch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kazuo Takeda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Sam Neckpunch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kazuo Takeda!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Franklyn Lucas and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Neckpunch throws a jab when Takeda was well out of range.
Neckpunch goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


It looks like Kazuo Takeda has been cut.
Takeda fails with a takedown attempt.
Neckpunch ducks under a wild hook from Takeda.
Neckpunch throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Neckpunch connects with a crisp jab.
Neckpunch keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Takeda needs to keep his hands up - Neckpunch had a free shot at his head there.
Neckpunch throws a jab but it's blocked by Takeda.
Takeda throws a jab when Neckpunch was well out of range.
A big right from Neckpunch misses.
Takeda looks to land a right hand but Neckpunch moved out of range.
Takeda misses with a body shot.

Takeda shoots in for a double leg but Neckpunch sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Takeda throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Takeda shoots in and bounces Neckpunch off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Neckpunch lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Takeda!
Neckpunch throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Takeda because Neckpunch loaded up on that one.
Takeda regains half guard.
Neckpunch is thwarting Takeda's attempts to control the position.
Neckpunch wants to take a breather but Takeda is having none of it.

Neckpunch trying to control from Takeda's half guard. Takeda has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Takeda looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Takeda is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Neckpunch has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Takeda is looking for a triangle but Neckpunch pushes his legs off easily.
Takeda trying to strike off his back.
Neckpunch throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Neckpunch trying to control the position from guard on top but Takeda is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Neckpunch postures up in Takeda's guard and throws a big left but Takeda blocks it.
Neckpunch wants to control from the top but Takeda keeps moving.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Neckpunch staying out of range there.

Takeda closes this distance looking for a takedown but Neckpunch circles away.
Sam Neckpunch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kazuo Takeda.
Neckpunch throws the left hand but Takeda avoids the punch easily.
Neckpunch avoids the head kick by Takeda.
Neckpunch ducks under a wild hook from Takeda.
Takeda shoots in for a takedown but Neckpunch shows good takedown defense.

Takeda throws a shot from downtown. Neckpunch moves away and avoids it.
Takeda misses with a double jab
and Neckpunch cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Takeda shoots and misses
and Neckpunch counters with a straight right hand.

Neckpunch throws a one two combo.


That has opened up Kazuo Takeda's cut even more.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Neckpunch fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Neckpunch keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Neckpunch drops Takeda with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Takeda! Neckpunch dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (strikes). Sam Neckpunch!
