Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Vasiliy Arkhipov!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A right-left combo lands from Max.
Arkhipov throws a jab when Max was well out of range.

Vasiliy Arkhipov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Max lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Max.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Max.

Max pushes Arkhipov up against the ropes in a clinch.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Max.
Max content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Arkhipov wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Still in the clinch, Max scores with a nice short uppercut.
Max lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Max scores with a shot to the side of Arkhipov's head.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Arkhipov breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Arkhipov connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Max's hands.

Max throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Arkhipov stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Max feints and as Arkhipov raises his hands in defense, Max changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Max passes Arkhipov's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Max is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well Max has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
