The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Wang.
Wang shoots in for a takedown but Sanchez shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Diago Sanchez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wang keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sanchez throws a series of punches but Wang moves out of range.
Wang moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
A slow jab from Sanchez misses its intended target.

Sanchez scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Wang doesn't seem bothered though.

Sanchez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Wang moves away.
Sanchez misses with a looping right.
Wang slips under a jab from Sanchez.
Sanchez tries to bum rush Wang with a series of wild strikes but Wang uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Diago Sanchez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Wang shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Sanchez counters with a nice uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wang moves out of range of the strikes.

Sanchez rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Wang moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sanchez throws a nice looking combination but Wang bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Sanchez throws a shot from downtown. Wang moves away and avoids it.
Sanchez lands with an uppercut that bounces Wang off the cage and back into rage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sanchez wants to get up but he can't break Wang's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Diago Sanchez.
Well Sanchez has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
