PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Viking Fighter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Viking Fighter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joe Stevens!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Roosa Järviläinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevens ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Fighter tries to clinch but Stevens is having none of it.
Fighter takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Stevens gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Fighter to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Stevens is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Fighter scoring with punches to the head and body.

Stevens is looking for a triangle but Fighter pushes his legs off easily.
Fighter trying to control the position from guard on top but Stevens is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Fighter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stevens swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Fighter will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Fighter connects with a couple of short punches.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fighter forces his way into half guard.
Fighter is nestled in close to Stevens, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Stevens is rocked!
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Fighter connects with a nice short shot to Stevens's temple.
Stevens is still in real trouble! Can Fighter finish him?
Fighter has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Fighter scores with a big shot! Stevens's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Stevens! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
