The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Magic has closed the distance and engaged Jake in a clinch.
Magic wants a takedown but no success here.
Jake wants to break free but Magic has control.
Jake prevents the takedown attempt.

Jake successfully pulls guard.

Jake looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Jake wants to sweep but no luck.
Magic pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jake is keeping the position for now.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Magic drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Magic stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jake swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Magic forces his way into half guard.
Magic not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Magic is looking to take a break and control but Jake is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Magic throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jake works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Magic postures up in Jake's guard and throws a big left but Jake blocks it.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Magic tries for a takedown but Jake manages to get underhooks.

Jake jumps guard but Magic stands there with Jake around his waist. Jake gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Jake wants to get back to striking at distance but Magic won't allow it.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Jake has hold of Magic's hands but Magic slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Magic wants to take a breather but Jake is having none of it.

Magic pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Jake is rocked!
A nice elbow there by Magic.
Jake is still in real trouble! Can Magic finish him?

Magic postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Jake in real trouble here! The ref calls for Jake to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
