The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
d tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Liddell swivels and escapes.
d steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Liddell.
d slips a straight right by Liddell.
d dodges the punch combination from Liddell.
d fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Liddell misses with a straight left.
Liddell misses with an uppercut. d saw that one coming.

Liddell throws a looping overhand right but d ducks down to avoid it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Liddell throws a jab but it's blocked by d.

Liddell drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Liddell has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of d is proving hard to escape from.
Liddell is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Liddell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with d. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Liddell wants to get up but he can't break d's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
d escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Liddell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
d is breathing heavily.
d has a closed guard, preventing Liddell from standing up.
Liddell must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Liddell is posturing up here but d has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Liddell tries to roll out but it's too tight and Liddell has to tap! Slick submission there by d!
