PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Big Bastard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Dexter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dexter tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bastard swivels and escapes.

so Dexter counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Dexter drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bastard manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dexter has Bastard in his guard.

Dexter has his foot on Bastard's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bastard works his way back into a safe position though.

Dexter had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Bastard is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Dexter Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Bastard's back instead.

Bastard really must keep his cool here. He's controlling one of Dexter's hands and whilst he does that, he's got a chance of escaping the position.

Dexter is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Bastard knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Bastard for a finish.

Bastard is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Bastard's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Big Bastard.
I think Bastard has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
