The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shockner tries to close the distance and clinch but Filipopic swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Shockner tries to clinch up but Filipopic circles away and keeps his distance.
Filipopic takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Filipopic throws a head kick that misses.
Shockner changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Filipopic tries to avoid it but Shockner manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Filipopic to the ground. Filipopic escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Shockner misses with a low kick.
Shockner throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Shockner looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Good leg kick by Shockner there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Filipopic looks gassed!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Shockner throws a right and a left that both miss.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Shockner, right into the meat.
Shockner misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Shockner lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Filipopic circles away quickly and effectively.
Shockner throws a right hand that Filipopic ducks under and follows up with a left that Filipopic also avoids with ease.
Shockner wants to clinch.
Shockner swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Sladen Shockner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shockner looks for a takedown but Filipopic sprawls well.
Filipopic moves out of range of the body kick from Shockner.
Filipopic moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Filipopic tries a head kick but it misses.

A jab from Filipopic finds it's way through Shockner's defenses.
Shockner shoots in for a double leg but Filipopic sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

A head kick misses from Filipopic.
Filipopic thuds his shin into the meat of Shockner's side.
Filipopic throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
No luck for Shockner with that takedown attempt.

A head kick lands from Filipopic that sends Shockner to the canvas. Shockner tries to scramble back to his feet but Filipopic brings him back down into side control.

Shockner is rocked!
Shockner tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Filipopic presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Shockner wants to control but Filipopic is having none of it.
Filipopic takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

A head kick by Filipopic - that's a beauty! Shockner is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Filipopic can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
