Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rex Bannion!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Skip Squint and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bannion lands a front kick.
Bannion throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Reigaldo lands a head kick!
The fight stays on the outside here - Bannion looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Reigaldo avoids the head kick by Bannion.

and Reigaldo counters by moving into the clinch.
Bannion unloads a knee to the mid-section. Reigaldo lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Bannion tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Reigaldo tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Bannion with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Bannion landing knees to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Reigaldo tries to pull guard but Bannion won't allow it.
Bannion gets underhooks to prevent Reigaldo's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Evinho Reigaldo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Reigaldo is breathing heavily.

Reigaldo decides to pull guard.
Reigaldo tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Reigaldo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bannion doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bannion manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bannion wants to stand but Reigaldo is controlling his posture from full guard.

Reigaldo is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Reigaldo trying to control the position.
Bannion really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Reigaldo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Reigaldo holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Bannion using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Reigaldo has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Reigaldo gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Reigaldo throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Reigaldo is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Bannion tries to kick Reigaldo off but Reigaldo keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Reigaldo is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Bannion has managed to free his arm - good work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Reigaldo is trying to control. Bannion wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Reigaldo stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Bannion lands a high kick!
No luck for Reigaldo with that takedown attempt.
Bannion throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Reigaldo is looking to land body kicks.

Reigaldo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bannion sprawls well initially but Reigaldo persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Reigaldo works his way into full mount!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Reigaldo throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Bannion has his hands clasped together but Reigaldo breaks the hold and Bannion is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Reigaldo!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Evinho Reigaldo!
