Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yamapi Chan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Mac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chan comes to the cage accompanied by Daite Senorita. Mac has chosen I Gatta Feeling by Black Eyed Peas as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yamapi Chan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jay Mac!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shirou Masuda and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chan rushes Mac and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Mac drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Chan with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Mac tries to pull guard but Chan holds him up against the cage and eventually Mac drops back down to his feet.

Yamapi Chan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jay Mac.
Chan unloads a knee to the mid-section. Mac lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Mac fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Chan lands an elbow inside that Mac shrugs off.

Chan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mac avoids the head kick by Chan.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Chan.

Mac closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Mac stops Chan from getting back to his feet.

Mac is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Chan defends it well.

Mac shoots in and bounces Chan off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Mac trying to control but Chan is working from the bottom.
Chan is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Chan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mac can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mac bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Mac is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Chan manages to get to full guard.
Chan not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Chan doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Chan working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mac doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mac manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That was a close round but I would say that Yamapi Chan will probably get the nod.

Mac tries for a takedown but Chan sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Mac shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Chan counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Mac!

Chan is working for a guillotine from mount but Mac frees his head quite easily.

Chan has control of Mac's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Mac regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Chan jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Mac is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Mac and Chan has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Chan stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Chan forces Mac back against the cage and clinches.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Mac shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Chan's guard.

Mac is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Yamapi Chan.
Well Chan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
