PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dodge Elusive (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Otto Kaikkonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kaikkonen has chosen Duran Duran - WIld Boys as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Otto Kaikkonen will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elusive circles away from the clinch attempt.
Elusive avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Elusive thows a left - swing and a miss!
Kaikkonen listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Elusive defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kaikkonen.
Kaikkonen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

It looks like Dodge Elusive has been cut.
Kaikkonen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Elusive moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Elusive shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kaikkonen's guard.

Elusive keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kaikkonen's head.
Elusive postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Elusive has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Elusive's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Elusive lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

and Elusive counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Elusive.

Kaikkonen wants the takedown. Elusive is fighting it off but Kaikkonen persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Elusive's guard against the cage.

Otto Kaikkonen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Elusive fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kaikkonen sprawls well initially but Elusive persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Elusive working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Elusive seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Elusive uses his free foot to push down on Kaikkonen's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Kaikkonen.

Kaikkonen wants to get back to his feet but in bucking up he's left an arm hanging out! Elusive has locked onto it and has pulled off a slick armbar! Kaikkonen taps furiously! This one is all over!
