PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Milo Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Len Compton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Milo Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Len Compton!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Colin Fotheringham and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Brown darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
A telegraphed right hand from Brown misses the target.
Compton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brown tries to avoid it but Compton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brown to the ground. Brown escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Compton looks for a takedown but Brown sprawls well.

Compton feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Brown looking to hit a scissor sweep but Compton is one step ahead there.
Brown wants to stand and escape but Compton is having none of it.
Compton working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Compton loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Brown wants to stand up but Compton is controlling him.
Brown wants to sweep here but Compton controlling him for the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brown keeping moving, preventing Compton from controlling successfully.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Brown tries to close the distance and clinch up but Compton swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Brown tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Brown is looking to clinch but Compton is avoiding it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Brown looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Compton throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Brown wants to clinch.
Brown throws a series of strikes that have Compton backpedaling.
Brown is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Compton misses with a low kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Compton closes this distance looking for a takedown but Brown circles away.
Milo Brown has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Len Compton.
Compton fails with the takedown.
Brown connects with the punch.

Brown takes the fight into the clinch.
Brown tries to land knees in the clinch but Compton avoids the damage to the body.
Compton is trying to drag Brown to the mat but Brown just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Brown is trying to force a seperation but Compton has the dominant position.
Compton drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Brown gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Brown gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Compton.

Brown breaks from the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Brown throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Brown keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Brown defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Compton.
Milo Brown is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Brown tries to close the distance and clinch but Compton swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Brown tries to clinch but Compton moves out of range.
Milo Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brown tries to clinch there but Compton circles away.
Compton has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Brown finds it's way round the side to connect with Compton's head.

Brown drives through and clinches with Compton against the cage.

Brown manages to break the clinch.

Compton shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Compton is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Brown defends it well.
Compton looks gassed!
Brown wants to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Compton lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Compton throwing shots but Brown is blocking nicely.

Brown pushes Compton off and gets back to his feet.

Brown gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Compton to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Compton pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Brown is keeping the position for now.
Compton keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Brown's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Milo Brown dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Compton looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Compton keeps the fight on the outside.
Compton swats away the attempt to clinch by Brown.
Brown doesn't manage to clinch there - Compton circles away.
Brown is looking to slow Compton down with leg kicks.

Compton scores a takedown into full mount!
Brown working to try and regain half guard.
Compton working Brown over with strikes here.
Brown is in a horrible position here. Compton smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Compton lands a big shot there that rocks Brown but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Compton looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Brown can't escape the position.
Compton cracks Brown with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Compton connects with a bit shot that sees Brown covering up! More strikes from Compton and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Compton is our winner by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Len Compton!
