Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Majid Rahim (ranked 2192 p4p, 2292 weight class) and Glenn Banks (ranked 283 p4p, 296 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rahim tries to close the distance and clinch but Banks swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Banks is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Banks gets tackled into the cage by Rahim. Rahim maintains the clinch.

Banks breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

so Banks counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Rahim not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
My spies in Freaky Fight Club inform me that Banks has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Rahim is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Banks is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rahim has his foot on Banks's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Banks works his way back into a safe position though.
Banks really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rahim. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rahim looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Banks is defending well. Rahim quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Banks has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Rahim celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
