Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ayaan Petersen (ranked 4176 p4p, 4187 weight class) and Dax Macdonald (ranked 0 p4p, 427 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Macdonald has a takedown stuffed.
Petersen tried to counter with a leg kick but Macdonald avoided it.

Macdonald gets tackled into the cage by Petersen. Petersen maintains the clinch.

Petersen has Macdonald pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Petersen pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Macdonald tumbling to the mat - Petersen dives into Macdonald's guard.
Petersen trying to control the position from guard on top but Macdonald is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Petersen is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Macdonald wriggles free and stands up.

Petersen clinches up against the cage.
Macdonald misses with a punch to the body.
Petersen is pushing Macdonald up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Macdonald breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Macdonald tries to score a power double leg takedown but Petersen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Macdonald somewhat.

Macdonald gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Macdonald is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Petersen presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Macdonald wants to break free but Petersen has control.
Macdonald wants to get back to striking at distance but Petersen won't allow it.
Petersen cracks Macdonald with a nice body shot.

Petersen ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Petersen no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Petersen wants to sweep here but Macdonald controlling him for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Macdonald is stalling in the full guard.
Petersen keeping moving, preventing Macdonald from controlling successfully.

Petersen is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Macdonald looking to sit in guard and control but Petersen gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Petersen is sitting in close to Macdonald's body. Macdonald has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Petersen is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Petersen is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Macdonald.
