Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Finley Cowan (ranked 4143 p4p, 1121 weight class) and Remy Leeuwenhoek (ranked 394 p4p, 126 weight class). Remy Leeuwenhoek will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cowan looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Cowan throwing strikes but missing.
Leeuwenhoek has his hands on Cowan's head, controlling the position.
Cowan throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Leeuwenhoek works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Leeuwenhoek can do anything to dispel that myth.
Cowan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cowan working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Leeuwenhoek looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
A telegraphed right hand from Leeuwenhoek misses the target.
Leeuwenhoek connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Nice sprawl there from Leeuwenhoek as Cowan shoots in.
The fighters circling - Leeuwenhoek throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Cowan looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Leeuwenhoek keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Leeuwenhoek lands a big right hand that sends Cowan crashing to the mat! Leeuwenhoek stays standing though and waves Cowan back to his feet!

It looks like Finley Cowan has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cowan shoots in and drives through. Leeuwenhoek sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Finley Cowan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Cowan crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Leeuwenhoek - the referee stops the clock and Cowan gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Leeuwenhoek. Cowan manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Cowan throws a head kick but Leeuwenhoek moves out of range.
Leeuwenhoek looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cowan fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Leeuwenhoek avoids it really well and circles away.
Cowan avoids the head kick by Leeuwenhoek.
Leeuwenhoek misses with a low kick as Cowan jumps back.
Leeuwenhoek scores with the left hand. Cowan knows he should have avoided that one.
Cowan has his takedown stuffed
and Leeuwenhoek counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Cowan is rocked!
Leeuwenhoek steps in with a hook that catches Cowan right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Leeuwenhoek follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Cowan looks absolutely devastated.
